three ways to make sure you don’t settle

we have been talking all week about how settling will prevent us from reaching our maximum potential.  today, i offer you three ways to make sure you don’t allow yourself to settle.

  1. create a vision for yourself and be uncompromising. being clear on what you are working to accomplish/seeking in life/hope to be/etc will produce a standard for you to judge all things against.  if something falls below your standard and/or you don’t see a clear way in how it will help you reach your vision, don’t accept it.  period.  key watch out: don’t create or hold on to a ridiculous vision.
  2. get others to hold you accountable. once you have that vision, tell the world (or at least a few people close to you that you can trust).  sometimes, we may lose sight of our vision and what we are hoping to accomplish, but having objective parties around you that can smack you back in shape when you wander off the path is worth more than you can imagine.
  3. train your brain to go hard. the ability to go hard is a mindset.  you have to teach yourself to respond to difficulty not by giving up, but instead by going hard.  that’s what this week is all about…

how are you going hard today?
