the difference between makers and managers
paul graham wrote a great post on the different schedules of makers and managers. in short, managers (the bosses) often lead organizations to run on their schedule, which is disastrous for the makers (engineers, creatives, etc.). what’s important about this post is to realize how your decisions impact’s the performance of those around you. you might be a manager, but true leader’s recognize their skill is in getting the best work out of those around them, which might mean it’s time to move to a maker’s schedule…
