i would rather tell you to slow down…

this is a memo i sent to my team this week to encourage us to check our mindset and the choices we make when we come through the door (including myself).  passing this along in case it means something for you:

“everyday we make choices when we come to work. do we spend 15 more minutes checking facebook or figuring out how to move the needle on our business?  do we wait for someone to give us an assignment or do we go out there and take it?  do we moan and complain or do we search for ways to create the change we want?  do we do what everyone else is doing or do we choose more extraordinary behaviors? do we accept failure and missed deliverables or do we fight to hit every single deadline?  do we settle or do we create/inspire/search for greatness?  do we walk in haphazardly or come running with a purpose?

At the end of the day, I would rather have to ask you to slow you down than to have to tell you to speed up.  i look forward to the choices you will make today.”
