how quick are you gonna get up?
in life, there will always be problems, challenges, and setbacks of all shapes and sizes. it comes with the program. unfortunately, there is no perfect journey. too often we allow these issues to overtake and overpower us. too often, when faced with these challenges we take our eyes off the prize and get stuck in the crap life is giving us. we forget about our dreams and where we are headed only to meditate and focus on what isn’t right and perfect at the moment. but this should never be the case: our problems should never be allowed to be bigger than our dreams.
that’s why i love nike’s latest commercial, human chain, not just because i think it is perfectly but done but also because of the message it contains. the brand quickly reminds us that while failure, setbacks, and bad seasons are inevitable, at the end of the day, the choice is ours to whether or not we will overcome. this message is both timely and relevant considering we sit amidst a struggling economy that has had a devastating toll on businesses and individuals alike. nike is right, the question we now have to ask ourselves as entrepreneurs, marketers, and people is simple: how quick are we gonna get up?
